Haha, don't worry, the US is going to socialism. Currently I work hard and pay for people who are irresponsible with their money to get money back from the government for buying a house. I bought a house 2 years ago, and bought one I could actually afford, and as a result, I now pay for people who didn't to get government money.
I also get taxed at the second highest tax rate available in SC. I'm fucking 26.

I don't like Socialism. Sorry Anti, I'm a pretty pure capitalist. If someone else isn't as smart about managing their money than me, tough nuggies, learn.
I went all through middle school getting made fun of by kids whose parents were on welfare because my shoes weren't as cool as theirs. Then my parents sent me to college and now I pay taxes so those kid's kids can have cooler shoes than my kids will have, and those kid's inevitably are irresponsible with how many children they bring into this world as well.
Are you my brother?
^10 x10 to the 3,600 to everything that Dewstain said.
To make it worse, I bought my house in July 2007, approximately 6 months too early to enjoy the $7,000 interest-free government loan in the form of a lump-sum tax credit that is paid back at a rate of $500 per year for subsequent years. We could have used that nice money upfront to pay off credit card debt. Oh wait, we pay ours off at the end of every month! We would have paid off/down our student loan debt rather than buy a big screen television with a gazillion watt home theater system.
Who gives a mortgage to a person who cannot read nor comprehend the terms of the mortgage they are signing on, anyways? I cannot stand the bullshit from some people interviewed who said they didn't know what they were signing or didn't know that interest rates would get so high.
I also traded my gas-guzzling 2000 Ford Ranger for a slightly newer Mini Cooper, but I won't get the nice tax credit on that because I cannot afford to go out and buy a brand-new car from our bankrupt auto manufacturers. Even if I could afford to, I would rather buy from Ford than from ObamaMotors.
Our president, I'm sorry to say, is a dipshit and has no business trying to run corporations. They should have escorted Chrysler and GM through Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in December rather than throwing billions of dollars out the window.
Oh, and since I work for a government agency that is receiving American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding, my name is going to be published on the special website.
::sigh::
