I played it this morning, and first impressions are this:
1. The clutch is not made for "controller" play whatsoever. That kinda is disappointing, because you'll probably take a penelty if you don't use it, but I found it very difficult to use if you're used to index-finger braking.

2. Interior view is amazing. I was disappointed to find that the first person view did away with the center mounted gauges, and I'm not a huge fan of the side gauge, but the interior view rocked. The R8 actually had a lap counter in the trip computer's screen, like the real one does. I'm guessing that means if a Porsche has the Chrono pack it will have an analog one on top of the dash.

3. Cars handle much easier in stock mode than their FM2 counterparts. I had all assists off and the only one I had the slightest issue with was the GT3-RSR.

4. Framerate is great, car models are awesome, course in the demo is a good balance for a made up course. Elevation change in the track is very noticable, much more than any course in FM2 other than Road Atlanta Short. I will say that the colors for the course seemed a bit over contrasted, like they were trying to make it look more vibrant but maybe went a bit overboard.

5. I don't like how the car pulls up and you have to wait for it to start the race, and it revvs on it's own until like a half second before the race starts. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but initially, I don't like it.

Overall, I wish they'd put some tuning in, but it's not enough of a taste for me. I'm yearning for more now, more so than I was before this morning.

Mines 60% downloaded. I'll post my views later. Interesting what you said about the clutch Dew, and the small detail like revving before the race makes a big difference, in my opinion.

Should I do my college work, or play FM3 all night?

Also, which button is the clutch on the wheel?

haha i played the demo before refreshing for an exam today

I like the demo. I love how the cars feel heavier and Not tail happy sons of bitches who feel like theyre driving on ice.

The revving in the beginning is a pain in the ass, i hope thats just a demo thing.

And you're right about the clutch dew. If anyone can go full speed into a corner, with manual transmission and no ABS, and successfully brake without locking up while downshifting... then i'll eat my own socks.

with a controller of course

One other thing to get used to with the clutch would be letting off the gas when you push in the clutch. Whereas we're used to just shifting while keeping the gas pressed...

I know everyone is talking about the gameplay. But I think the replay system is a major improvement with huge variety of camera angles, and especially the fact you can rewind it

I just practiced for like 20 mins manual w/ clutch in the Evo and gradually got used to it. The down shifting is OK but my upshifts could be a bit smoother. At the beginning i just kept holding the brake through the corners though, because i was concentrating on the clutch so much

My first impressions are good. I like the new feel of the cars and the graphics are stunning. I can't wait to see what a tuned car can do on that kind of track. The Porsche + that track + me didn't go very well though to be honest , i was driving without all assists except ABS but no traction control just killed me!!! :( I need to practice some more!!

I really like the demo. I love that you can actually drive the stock cars in FM3, unlike FM2. I can't wait for this game now!

Agreed, the stock cars in this game actually feel good. In FM2 the stock tires felt like marshmallows.

Maybe the cars will be too good once tuned though. IMO, 52 seconds in an A-Class car on FM2 was kinda unrealistic...
